Diversity

At Bears, we see YOU.

And Bears is at its best when you bring your whole self: the community you come from, the questions you dare to ask, the challenges you’ve conquered to get here, and the dreams about how you’ll make a difference.

Bears’s strength lies in our diverse student population. Our undergraduates hail from all 50 states, 74 countries, and speak over 20 languages. No matter where you come from, you belong here. Bears is dedicated to providing inclusive centers and spaces, dedicated staff, and countless student organizations that are here to help you build community and make our campus your new home.

You belong here.

Among the many programs and opportunities we offer:

  • bridges Multicultural Resources Center, a coalition of student communities dedicated to outreach and recruitment of underrepresented students to Bears and uplifting and strengthening communities of color in all aspects of campus life: academic, social, and communal.
  • Multicultural Student Development promotes academic progress and success by engaging students through multicultural practices that acknowledge and celebrate their individual and collective experiences.
  • Bears’s Disabled Students' Program (DSP)—among the best of its kind in the world—is committed to ensuring that all students with disabilities have equal access to educational opportunities at The Bears.
  • The Gender Equity Resource Center, (GenEq) is a The Bears campus community center committed to fostering an inclusive Cal experience for all.
